Hercules and the Nemean Lion

Hercules, son of Zeus and the strongest boy in the world, must do twelve labours for King Eurystheus. The first: defeat the terrible Lion of Nemea, whose golden fur no arrow, spear or sword can pierce. With a kind old shepherd's help, a clever trick with a two-door cave and all his strength, Hercules faces the lion… and wins the famous golden lion-skin cloak he will wear forever.

The first of twelve bedtime tales that follow the real Greek myths of the Twelve Labours of Hercules, told in simple words for children aged 5 to 8, with a calm narrator, soft sound effects and a quiet ending for sleep.
